Access

From Kyoto station to the bus stop “Kyodai Nogakubu-mae” in Kyoto Univ. campus
  1. Subway + Bus
    Take subway Karasuma line to north direction for “Kokusai kaikan” and get off at “Imadegawa (K06)” station. Then take a city bus #203 for east direction (bound for “Kinrin Shako”) and get off at “Kyodai Nogakubu-mae”.
    Travel time : about 20 minutes
    Fares : 220 yen for subway
    230 yen for city bus
  2. Bus only
    Take a city bus #7 for “Kinrin shako” and get off at “Kyodai Nogakubu-mae”.
    Travel time : about 40 minutes
    Fare : 230 yen
  3. Taxi
    Travel time : about 20 minutes
    Fare : 2,000-2,500 yen
    It it easy to catch a taxi on any big street in Kyoto.There is no culture of tipping in Japan, and you do not have to give tips to the driver.
When using the Hankyu Line

From Kyoto Kawaramachi station,
take a city bus #7 for “Kinrin shako” at Sijyo Kawaramachi bus stop, and get off at “Kyodai Nogakubu-mae”.
Travel time:about 20 minutes
Fare : 230 yen

When using the Keihan Line
  1. Get off at “Demachiyanagi” station and walk for approximately 10 minutes.
  2. From “Demachiyanagi Ekimae,” take City Bus No. 7 or No. 203 bound for “Kinkaku Shako,” and get off at “Kyodai Nogakubu-mae.”
    Travel time : about 5 minutes
    Fare : 230 yen
From the bus stop “Kyodai Nogakubu-mae” to our department

Get off at “Kyodai Nogakubu-mae” and proceed 250 meters north from the gate at the traffic light.
(Walk west, in the direction behind the bus, and immediately turn right to head north.)

The red brick building with a silver dome on the roof (Graduate School of Science, Building No. 4) houses the Department of Astrophysics, primarily on the 4th and 5th floors.
