For Graduates | Lectures
Graduate education in astrophysics and astronomy is primarily conducted by faculty members of the Department of Astrophysics and the affiliated observatory. For master’s program students, we offer the following lectures, seminars, and special research opportunities (master’s thesis).
For detailed lecture content (syllabus), please refer to KULASIS.

Notes and Guidelines for Course Selection
As part of the shared special lectures for the department, the following courses are offered: Structures of Scientific Communication in English (instructed by James L. De Witt), Advanced Optical and Electronic Device Science, and Practical Physics for Advanced Optical and Electronic Devices (both taught by multiple instructors from fields such as Physics I). Additionally, there is the interdisciplinary MACS (Mathematics and Creative Science) program, part of SACRA, which aims to promote the creation of new research fields grounded in mathematical sciences.
Furthermore, the university offers Cross-Disciplinary Graduate Courses, among which Research Ethics and Integrity (for Science and Engineering) is a mandatory subject in principle.
Students must participate in at least one seminar from their field of study, such as Astrophysical Plasma Physics, Solar Physics, Stellar Physics, Galactic Astronomy, or Theoretical Astrophysics. Note that the instructors and titles of special lectures may vary by academic year.
For the subjects listed above and Research Ethics and Integrity (for Science and Engineering), any additional selection of courses from other fields beyond 2 credits requires submitting a credit approval request to the departmental council through your academic advisor to obtain approval.
